Orleton's withdrawl causes table re-jig
Swifts
lost two valuable points when Orleton withdrew from the
U14s league after playing 13 matches without gaining a
point. All results involving Orleton were removed from the
league teams' points tallies, which meant Swifts falling
back after they recorded a 14-1 win over the North
Herefordshire team in January.

U14s hook a new sponsor
Swifts
U14s began this season not knowing if they would have a
team or not, when in pre-season training only eight players
turned up. This led to the first fixture having to be
postponed, but since then things have gone in the right
direction with a committed squad of 14 players playing well
but most of all enjoying their football. The team now have
a new sponsor in Three Counties Fisheries run by Sue and
Brian Powell. Ron Davies, the Swifts manager, said: "I'm
delighted for the team and Ledbury Swifts FC that once
again a local business is willing to back the club in this
way. The cost of running the club goes up year on year and
as we strive to improve the club in every way, the
generosity of all the sponsors is very much appreciated."
Sue Powell added that when she was approached to provide a
new kit she had no hesitation. She said: "I think the
Swifts provide an excellent base for children, boys and
girls, not only from Ledbury but all the surrounding
villages, to get started in football. Brian and myself were
only too willing to help out."
