Sat Jul 02: Ross Juniors Tournament Final:

What a difference a week makes, the Under 8s travelled to Ross Juniors and won the Tournament. The Swifts had a superb record winning five games, scoring eight goals and conceded none. Initially, Ledbury were drawn in group B, against Ross Gunners, Bartestree and Pegasus Juniors. In their first game the Swifts beat Pegasus 2-0 thanks to a Ryan (Dude) Jones free kick and a super strike from Ben Miller. The second game against Bartestree was won 1-0, the winner scored from a corner by Ben Miller. In their final group match the Swifts turned on the pressure and beat Ross Gunners 3-0 thanks to two goals from Ben Miller and one from Tom Park, which took them through to the semi-finals. The Swifts were drawn against Hereford Lads Club. the runners-up group A. The final score was 1-0 to Ledbury thanks to another super goal  from Ben Miller. This brilliant effort by the Swifts took us through to the final. The match against Bartestree was a hard game, but playing as a team Ledbury put Ben Miller through to score the winning goal, After the Swifts had scored Bartestree threw every thing they had at Ledbury, but sound defending by Ryan Jones and Ryan (Rhino) Gobey, and one brilliant save pulled off by James Loader, assured the Cup came back to Ledbury. This was the Swifts last game of the season, and Manager Gary Parks would like to say a big thank you to all the team and parents for all the help throughout the season.

Sun Jun 25: Ledbury Swifts Tournament - 3rd/4th Play Off

LEDBURY Swifts entertained eight teams in their annual tournament and fete on Sunday. Ledbury Swifts were in group one and in their first match in the group stages, they played Ross Colts Gunners and won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ben Miller. In the second group they played Welland and drew 0-0. Ledbury finished second in their group and played Bartestree, who won group two in the semi-final. In a close contest Ledbury lost 1-0, which was a good result as in the group stage Bartestree beat Ledbury Swifts Rangers 4-1. The defeat meant Ledbury had to settle for third and fourth place play-off against Ashleworth Woodpeckers and in a close game, which went into extra time, Ledbury scored with two minutes to go. Ledbury's man-of-the- tournament Ryan Jones put Ben Miller through, who scored from six yards. In the final, Mitcheldean beat Bartestree 2-1 to take the trophy back to the Forest of Dean.
